SIZZLING SUMMER FESTIVAL FASHION – TAKE 2

It’s that time of year again. When the bands come out and the clothes (sometimes, more than planned) come off. Keep it cool and classy this festival season by donning my key pick: the double-duty underthing known as the bikini. If you can’t beat the heat and need to peel off a layer–who cares, because you’ll be looking hot in this little number by Full Tilt. Plus, the halter neck allows for extra comfort, and boob containment, should you decide to go crowd surfing. When you tire of everyone staring at your ta-ta’s (you know they are), I second Miss Jean’s suggestion of going with a cute crop top and some worn-in, rolled up, cut-offs. I love the punky vibe of Coco de Coeur’s Teenage Wasteland tee paired with Forever 21‘s rolled, distressed denim shorts. To keep your tootsies from getting trampled, opt for this twist on the classic slip-on, from Keds, with a soft jute sole. Lastly, if you must carry a bag (I usually prefer not to, in order to maximize free groovin’ potential) opt for something small and light than can go cross-body–like this macrame bag by Lucky Brand. Now, get on with your bad boho self, girl! ♥

SIZZLING SUMMER FESTIVAL FASHION – TAKE 1

To me, the ultimate festival pick has got to be a pair of sweet denim cut-offs. Whether vintage or new, assure you’ve got a slightly loose fit, locked down with a bangin’ vintage belt or a fun, colorful cincher of some sort. Then, the world is your oyster! Take it in whatever direction you want. But considering crops are currently all the rage, I say, go for it. Let’s be honest, is there a better or more appropriate place to don a crop top than a music festival? Think about it. Whitesnake ridicule be gone! And this fabulous one by MinkPink with its flirty tie waist, in a universally flattering color, is a class main-stage act. As for accessories, I like to stick with long necklaces so as to avoid getting ripped off, literally, rockin’ out in the pit. Earrings can sometimes be a hazard, take it from me. I also like the idea of sunglasses as an accessory statement all their own, for the same reason—minimal effort, maximum impact. Oh, and that SpaRitual nail lacquer not only goes with everything, it’s free of nasty chemicals like formaldehyde, too. You’re so Coachella.
