RUNWAY TO RETAIL: GIAMBATTISTA VALLI’S CONTROVERSIAL COLORBLOCKING

The Giambattista Valli number Emma Stone wore to the Friends with Benefits premier certainly caused quite the stir in the blogosphere–mainly due to the questionable little throw pillows dangling from the top of her skirt. Well, I, for one, think that Emma pulls it off well and looks pretty fabulous. And, if nothing else, the color combination is super hot, fun, and totally wearable so long as you opt for a neutral heel (preferably nude) and simple hair and accessories. Since this look, and its exorbitant price tag, isn’t for everyone, the fast fashion gods have yet again graced us with a few more affordable–and totally wearable– options…

What are you waiting for? Get at it, girls.

Urban Outfitters Lucca Couture Colorblock Bustier Cutout Dress, $69
Topshop Bodycon Mini Skirt, $45
American Apparel Leaf Flower Lace Top in red, $36 (Pair it with a cute bandeau!)
Zara Short-Sleeved Pullover in red, $60
Colin Stuart Platform Pump in nude, $49

  1. I agree with you, Natalie; Emma can “pull off the pillows”! Thanks for keeping me “up on the latest” fashion news! Always fun to read your worthy articles! Cris 🙂

  2. True, the ‘pillows’ aren’t for everyone’s body, but the color blocking is great. Fun colors, but good reminder to keep the shoe neutral.
