MIISTA MASTERS A FASHION-FORWARD MIX

Miista, a London-based shoe company, is an extraordinary find that revealed itself to me by way of Facebook (of all places). There was just something about the sturdy heel/mesh/buckle combination of the Adira in that fateful tiny advertisement that caught my eye instantly…

The designer behind these wonderful pieces, Laura Villasenin, states that her inspiration is drawn from the all-familiar theme of polarized opposites. Opposites that the designer brings together (through design structure and use of materials) to create a perfectly harmonious end-product.

Take the Naia, for example. It’s gorgeous mix of leather and shoe laces; though the latter is normally found in athletic shoe-wear, Villasenin manages to render this shoe stunningly polished and super-chic. Despite the use of juxtaposed elements found in Villasenin’s line, there’s something so uniquely simple and smart about these shoes, that they are a definite wardrobe must-have for this summer and well beyond.

After you:
Naia in Grey, $220; Adira in Black, $237; Nix in Navy, $229; Onake in Sand, $188

  1. Great find! And equally great price points for the amount of detail and hand-made quality.
