GET INVOLVED: THREE WAYS TO SUPPORT RELIEF EFFORTS IN JAPAN

While it may seem as though you are (in ways) powerless when it comes to aiding the Japanese people affected by the earthquake and tsunami, I can assure you that every single sentiment and action on your end can count, even if it means simply purchasing a $24.95 t-shirt at your local GAP store.

Many designers and retailers are teaming up to turn the simple act of your purchasing clothing into a real life humanitarian effort, by donating the proceeds of many limited edition and specialty fashion items directly to the victims of natural disaster in Japan, and now you too can easily lend a hand in their rebuilding:

1. Fashion Girls For Japan 60+ Designers / 60+ Rolling Racks
100% of the proceeds of this event benefit the Red Cross, with a minimum admission donation of $5, Saturday, April 2 from 11a-7p and Sunday, April 3 from 11a-5p at the Bowery Terrace at Bowery Hotel in NYC.

2. GAP Limited Edition Relief Tees, $24.95 each. All proceeds from sales will benefit Global Giving’s relief fund.

3. Enter “Japan Relief” in your search field on Etsy under “All items” and you’ll discover over 10,000 results of wonderful Etsy shop owners who are donating their earnings to relief efforts.
