Inspired by the ancient Byzantine Empire, the pre-fall Chanel Byzance show brings luxury back to fashion the way it was always meant to be: with Grecian mosaic beading and trims, intricate brocaded fabrics, and jeweled headdresses. Let’s take a moment and bask in what we can look forward to wearing when the leaves start to change again next year. You all know by now that Chanel is my favorite fashion house, and this most recent exhibition is the perfect illustration of why: Lagerfeld knocks it out of the park, yet again, with pieces so exquisitely cut, whoever dons them is instantly morphed into royalty.
It’s also nice to see the range of design within the entire collection–some of the pieces are elaborately detailed with complementary fabrics and accessories, while others feature simple silhouettes lightly accented with precious trims. Whichever look you prefer, this collection is sure to please. Who wouldn’t want to feel like royalty?
