While fashion mecca may not necessarily be the first thought that comes to mind when you think of Philadelphia, there are some of us out there who are trying to change that…

Oh yes, Philadelphia Fashion Week is rising again, like a shiny beacon of hope for Philly fashionistas, for round deux; and this time, with an added day–now four in all–running from Wednesday, October 6th through Saturday, October 9th.

For those of you who attended last year’s show, there will be some familiar faces (Marina Makaron Moscow, local university talent from the likes of Moore College of Art and Design and Philadelphia University, etc.), but there will also be some new names on the bill, as the event “pulls from a broader spectrum” of participants, many of whom are international, including designers from Brazil, Amsterdam, and London (see full schedule below).

Guests are invited to browse local retailers on site, schmooze at the open bar whilst munching on lite bites, and this year, will be treated to various video and art installations, as well as musical and dance performances, in between shows.

PFW is open to the public and tickets are currently on sale now, but through advance purchase only; if you’re looking for a spot, better snag one relatively soon. Pricing and ticket purchase information can all be found here (tickets range from $35.00 to $125.00, the latter if you want a reserved seat).

Stay tuned, more in-depth details on participating designers will be trickling in all month, VG is all over this one…
